CONCORD — Chief Thomas Judge reports that the Concord Fire Department extinguished a house fire on Independence Road this afternoon.
At 1:20 p.m. on Friday, March 1, Concord Fire responded to a report of a house fire at 115 Independence Road.
The sole occupant of the home had safely evacuated the house before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a smoke condition throughout the house. Crews subsequently discovered fire inside the wall of a second-floor bedroom. Crews then opened the inside wall and extinguished the fire.
Damage was contained to the interior wall and the fire was declared under control at about 2 p.m.
Members of the Bedford Fire Department, Lexington Fire Department, Lincoln Fire Department, Weston Fire Department, and PROEMS responded to the scene to assist. Station coverage was provided by the Acton Fire Department and the Maynard Fire Department.
The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Concord Fire Department.
